How does PT-141 work?
PT-141 (bremelanotide) is an analogue of α-MSH and acts on the melanocortin receptors in the brain, especially the MC4 receptor. Melanotan 2 is known mainly for pigment (skin colour); PT-141 is studied mainly around sexual desire, via the melanocortin route in the brain.
